ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION BASED ON INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES
The Doctoral Program in Islamic Education Based on Interdisciplinary Studies (S3 PAI-BSI) Postgraduate UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was established and held based on the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education Number: 41 of 2014 concerning Permission to Implement the Islamic Education Study Program at the Doctoral Program of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University in 2014, under the name of “Islamic Education Study Program Based on Interdisciplinary Studies (PAI-BSI)”.
The presence of the PAI-BSI Doctoral Program to respond to the needs of PAI in today's globalization era must be able to play its role dynamically and proactively in bringing change and making a meaningful contribution to the improvement of Muslims in particular and humanity in general, both at the theoretical and practical intellectual levels.

VISION
To become a leading Islamic Education doctoral program in the development of education and teaching, research and community service, based on Interdisciplinary Studies, to realize an Islamic civilization with an Indonesian perspective, and to produce Islamic education developers in accordance with the development demands and needs of a pluralistic, multicultural and multireligious society.
MISSION
- Developing the science of Islamic religious education based on interdisciplinary studies both in the implementation of education and teaching, research, and community service.
- Developing Islamic religious education studies with an Indonesian perspective and inclusive and transcendental knowledge.
- Improving research and development in the field of Islamic religion in relation to social issues and humanities that are integrative and interrelated in building civilization.
- Increasing the role of the study program in developing conceptual thoughts and theories in the field of Islamic religious education based on interdisciplinary studies, so that it has a significant contribution to national development.
- Making the PAI-BSI Doctoral program a strategic partner for institutions at home and abroad, in order to improve the quality of PAI.
GOALS
- To produce doctoral-level scholars in the field of PAI based on Interdisciplinary Studies who have the integrity of the solidity of aqidah, spiritual depth, moral majesty, breadth of knowledge, and professional maturity.
- To produce doctoral-level scholars who have analytical-critical-implementative abilities in the study of Indonesian Islamic problems with an interdisciplinary approach in the context of community development and empowerment.
- To produce experts in the field of religious socio-culture who have interdisciplinary abilities with practical theoretical abilities at all levels (micro, mezzo, and macro).
