The Master of Islamic Education Management Study Program (S2 MPI) is one of the concentrations of the Islamic Religious Studies Study Program, based on the Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 84 of 1999, concerning the Implementation of the Postgraduate Study Program (S2) at the State Islamic College of Malang.
Subsequently, based on the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Religious Institutions No. DJ.II/55/2005, the Islamic Education Management concentration within the Islamic Studies Program was developed into a separate study program with an M.Pd. degree. To date, it has graduated dozens of students. Most of its alumni are employed or accepted at various research institutions, consultancies, and educational institutions throughout Indonesia.
To become a superior study program in the field of Islamic Education Management (MPI) oriented towards research, innovation, and academic independence.
Graduates have the competence as consultants in planning, quality development, quality assurance, and governance of Islamic educational institutions, both formal and non-formal.
Graduates are able to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the implementation of Islamic education at various levels and types of educational institutions effectively, efficiently, and sustainably in accordance with modern management principles and Islamic values.
Graduates are able to play a role as educators and academic staff in the field of Islamic education management, as well as integrate management science, pedagogy, and Islamic values ​​in the learning process.
Suasana kampus UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta terasa berbeda pada 19–21 November 2025. Ratusan pengelola Program Studi Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI) dari berbagai PTKIN dan kampus Islam se-Indonesia berkumpul dalam Temu Tahunan PPMPI 2025, sebuah forum bergengsi yang selalu menjadi ruang lahirnya ide-ide besar dan arah baru pengembangan pendidikan Islam nasional.
Banjarmasin, tanggal 23 – 26 Oktober 2024 di Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Banjarmasin, Kalimantan Selatan, Asosiasi Prodi Manajemen Adminsitrasi Pendidikan Indonesia (APMAPI) bersama ISMAPI, mengelar acara Rakernas ISMAPI dan Mukernas APMAPI XII & Seminar Internasional. Selain diselenggarakan rapat kerja dan musyawarah kerja nasional, dan seminar internasional dengan tema International Conference of Management,
Probolinggo, 20-22 Januari 2024, Program Studi Magister Manajemen Pendidikan Islam Pascasarjana Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, yang diwakili Direktur Pascasarjana UIN Maulana Malik Ibarahim Malang, Prof. Dr. H. Wahidmurni, M.Pd dan Ketua Program Studi Magister MPI, sekaligus Dewan Pengurus Permapendis Indonesia, Dr. M. Fahim Tharaba, M.Pd  mengikuti
