Postgraduate Students of UIN Malang Present an Article on Religious Moderation at an International Seminar Event in Thailand

Thailand, October 19, 2024 five students of the Islamic Studies Doctoral Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, namely Ahmad, Hasbi Ash Shiddiqi, Miftakhul Huda, Abd. Azis, and Robby Zidni Ilman Zf, with the Supervision of the Deputy Director of Postgraduate Studies at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang Drs. Basri, MA., Ph. D., and Secretary of the Islamic Studies Doctoral Program Dr. Muhammad, Lc., M.Th.I. presented their articles at a Seminar entitled “Conference on Interreligious Dialogue for Reconciliation and Resilience” organized by Institute of Science Innovation and Culture in collaboration with UIN Malang, which was held in Hatyai, Thailand.

In the forum, the five scholarship recipients of the East Java Province Pesantren and Diniyah Development Institute (LPPD) discussed various important themes related to religious moderation and interfaith dialog, including:

  1. Status and Stratification of Kafirs non Muslim In Indonesia (Analysis Study of the Bahtsulmasail Results Within The Nahdlatul Ulama’ Regarding the Status of Kafirs and non-Muslims From Legal, Social and Siyasifiqh Perspectives).
  2. Perspective of Aqashid Syariah and Challenges of Inter-Religious Harmony in Indonesia Regarding Inter-Religious Greetings in Indonesia.
  3. Muslim-Christian Relations of Madura Ethnicity, Sumberjambe District, Jember Regency Social Construction Perspective.
  4. Reconstruction of Communication Patterns in Conflict Resolution; Study of the Ideal Approach to Reconciliation of Identity Politics Conflicts in 2024.
  5. Religious Moderation Education Style Among Youth’s Generation in Interreligious Dialogue (Content Study Analysis of The Youtube Platform Habib Husein Ja’far Al-Hadar)

This International Seminar provides a platform for students to promote a more inclusive understanding of religious moderation, as well as broaden international horizons regarding the challenges and opportunities for interfaith dialog in Indonesia and the world.
